| My work, while abstract, suggests reality. Nature is an important influence but the exact meaning of the work remains ambiguous and is open to individual interpretation. I call my newest paintings "Landscapes of the Mind" because they grow from my imagination. The surfaces are layered; complex textural areas of paint and collage are played against those that are thinner and more simplified. The addition of found material to some of the work reinforces and strengthens the images. |
